How to build a projector screen under $45 - For dummies

How to build a projector screen under - For dummies Video Clips. Duration : 7.23 Mins.

I got about 100 pm's asking how i built my projector screen. Apparently, people don't like getting wallet fucked by projector screen manufacturers. So rather than answering the same questions copy and paste over and over again, i can just refer people to this video. What i was saying toward the beginning that got cut off, was that i looked all over the place for a how-to video online for how to make a projector screen. Easily. Youtube, google. All that. And everyone made it sound so overly complicated i decided to do it myself. People...it's white cloth over wood! C'mon naw! Easy steps: 1) Go to home depot and get materials to build frame 2) Staple gun some white blackout cloth to the front of said frame. The type of cloth here is important though. You want to make sure it's a material the beam from your projector won't pass through when it's on. It has to be a solid beam stopper. Blackout cloth is perfect for the job and perfectly cheap. Altogether, i built this for under and although i made a couple mistakes, i learned from it and pointed it out here for you guys. Mistakes: overcompensate when you buy the cloth according to your measurements. You can never have too much cloth. If you have too much, you can always cut it or wrap around the back. Too little and you might just have to scrap it and go back to the fabric store. So be sure to buy at least 4-6" extra so you can wrap it around the back of the frame and staple to the back. I had to staple to the front cause ...

Introducing Sony's First 3D Home Projector VPL-VW90ES

Introducing Sony's First 3D Home Projector VPL-VW90ES Tube. Duration : 4.95 Mins.

Sony has announced the VPL-VW90ES projector at CEDIA 2010 for the US market, and it has become Sony's flagship device for an incredible HD and 3D cinematic experience in the home. The projector is unique because it is a model of two firsts; it is the first front projector from Sony to feature 3D capability, and it is the first Elevated Standard (ES) projector ever. The price is reasonable at 99 - which seems high at first glance but is actually quite competitive. Several other manufacturers have released 3D projectors this year and also simultaneously with Sony at CEDIA 2010, but they simply do not compare in quality. There are several advantages for Sony right now with this projector compared to the competition (aside from 3D capability), incredible quality, an early release date of November, and a 240Hz refresh rate. The 240Hz technology, which is not available in any other 3D projector, "minimizes cross talk for minimal image distortion" according to Sony. Other noteworthy features include two active shutter 3D glasses and transmitter included with the projector, which is capable of 1000 ANSI lumens and a dynamic contrast ratio of 150000:1. I watched some 3D content on the VW90ES, including PS3 gaming clips, exclusive film footage of Green Hornet, and so forth. The experience was very impressive, and there was indeed less crosstalk on motion scenes. In some ways, it almost feels like this 3D revolution is really made for projectors, because when I think about all of ...

Choosing a Projector: LCD or DLP?

Choosing a Projector: LCD or DLP? Video Clips. Duration : 4.42 Mins.

Choosing a Projector: LCD or DLP?Today, when buying equipment for a home media centre more and more people are choosing projector as the image display device. There are several reasons for that. Firstly, it's the large size of the image which can be several metres wide. Secondly it's the compact size and low weight of the projector itself. Thirdly, a good projector costs about half as much as a 42'' LCD display or a PDP. It's easy to connect and easy to set up, it's compact and inexpensive - what else does an average customer need? Indeed, an average customer doesn't want to waste money. Projectors have many various features. However, one of the most important things is the technology used to produce the image. Today you can buy either an LCD or a DLP projector. LCD projectors use liquid crystal technology. They are somewhat like film or slide projectors. An LCD panel is used instead of film. A digital electronic circuit creates images on the panel. The light of the lamp goes through three panels, each displaying a colour, and a lens. As the result we can see a multifold-increased image on the screen.DLP projectors use digital light processing technology. Light is reflected from the surface of a special chip, about 15x11 mm in size. Several millions of microscopic mirrors on the surface of the chip form the image. Then light travels through a photic disk and a lens, and is finally projected onto the screen. Micromirror arrays are an example of the innovation technology ...
