Other speakers include (in order) David Simpson, Chair of TRB's Intercity Passenger Rail Committee; and Rod Diridon, Executive Director of the Mineta Transportation Institute and Chair of the US High-Speed Rail Association. About the series: On January 13, 2013, the Mineta National Transit Research Consortium (MNTRC), at the invitation of the Transportation Research Board (TRB), organized a daylong workshop on high-speed rail (HSR) for the US. Special participation came from the Mineta Transportation Institute and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. This video series includes the opening sequence, with a keynote by US Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood, and an introduction by Federal Railway Administrator Joseph Szabo. Six other videos focus on each of the day's panel discussions.
