Why SONY VAIO Laptop SZ/TZ/CS Series overheating/becomes too hot to hold? Below is my method how to solve overheating & noise problem of this particular laptop model. Here I've found that venting/cooling area being BLOCK by tumbles of DUST. So the cooling system of this particular VAIO Laptop model far from efficient, the heat cannot moved out so the fan need to do very hard job spining. That's why it produce loud sound and when heat don't moved out it will overheat. To clean cooling system of this laptop, you need a screwdriver,Alcohol wipes (optional), Thermal Compound and CPU/Heatsink Cleaner. Method : 1. Open back cover (6screws) 2. Remove Heatsink (2screws) 3. Clean Heatsink, Heatsink vent area (carefull not to bend anything), use alcohol wipe for the best result. 4. Replace/apply Thermal Compound to CPU (how? google for it) then put all the parts and screw back together again... 5. Enjoy... now feel the different, COOL and Silent... It's benn 3 mths now... my laptop still silent and cool... I'll update when it need to do this cleaning again, I think it depends on how bad your living environment.
